Using Google Earth and its effectiveness, etc.
沙漠を理解する画像としては、私はこれまで地上から撮影した画像と、たまたま手に入る衛星画像を利用していました。今回初めて、Google Earthを使えば、自分の希望する地点の衛星画像をまるで人工衛星から地上を眺めるように手に入れることが分かりました。
個々の沙漠の特徴を文章の説明と解像度が必ずしも満足ではない衛星画像とで理解することは難しいことでした。その解像度の衛星画像と同じ地域をGoogle Earthを使って眺めることで、文章の説明が驚くほど良くわかりました。
Google Earthを使っているうちに沙漠への興味が一段と湧き、その興味を追いながら、関連するペーパーをネットで調べて読み漁りました。
また、砂丘地形の特徴が風によって形作られていることを知るにつれてアラビア半島に吹く風についても調べたくなりました。風に関しては余り資料を見つけられませんでした。それでも、近年それぞれの専門分野からペーパーが出されており、ネットから調べられるだけは調べてみました。
それぞれにやっと初歩的な知識が手に入れられた段階ですが、何とか説明できるようになったと思っています。
Word Pressに関しても分からないことやトラブルが次々と出て来ました。その都度、Word PressのSupport Staffsから丁寧な助言を受けながらHome Page公開に近づいています。
2021年の夏の終わり頃を公開の目途にしていましたが、そんなこと2021年は、終わってしまい、ホームページの公開は、半年以上遅れてしまいました。

To understand the literatures for deserts, I have used images taken from the ground and satellite images that were occasionally available. Recently, I got understand that by using Google Earth I can get a satellite image of my desired point as if I were looking at the ground from an satellite.
It was difficult for me to understand the characteristics of individual desert with text explanations, and satellite images whose resolution was not satisfactory. Using Google Earth to view the same area, the explanation with text was surprisingly well understood. Using Google Earth, I became more interested in the desert. And that interest brings me further knowledge with finding the related papers online.
I also wanted to know about the winds blowing on the Arabian Peninsula as I learned that the features of the dune terrains were shaped by the wind.
I couldn’t find much material about the wind. Even so, in recent years, papers have been published from each specialized field, and I can search online.
I’ve only got some rudimentary knowledge about both of them; however, I will try to manage to explain them, here.
As for WordPress, things I didn’t understand and troubles came up one after another. Each time. I have gotten the kind advice to rectify them from WordPress Support Staffs.
I was planning to release this site at around the end summer of 2021; however, the time has already been the end of 2021. And therefore, the release of the site is delayed by more than half a year.
