| 商業港には工業港も含まれ、工業製品や石油製品、畜産物、バルク貨物などを扱っていますが、近年はコンテナ荷役が主力となっています。新設・増設される港は、工業地帯や自由貿易区に隣接しているのが特徴です。 | Commercial ports also include industrial ports, handling industrial and petroleum products, livestock products, and bulk cargo, but in recent years container handling has become their primary focus. Newly constructed and expanded ports are often located adjacent to industrial zones and free trade zones. |
| かつて地域輸送は主要な役割を担っていましたが、現在では島や湾内の交易を目的としたフェリーやダウ船が中心です。外洋航行が可能で、数千人を収容できる観光用クルーズ船向けの港が建設され、すでに就航も始まっています。今後は、この需要が高まると期待されています。 | While regional transportation once played a major role, today ferries and dhows for island and intra-bay trade are their norm. Ocean-going ports capable of accommodating thousands of passengers have already been constructed and have begun operating for tourist cruise ships.
