| 21世紀に入ってからの湾岸協力会議（مجلسالتعاونلدولالخليجالعربية）諸国の教育、文化、生活改善における発展には、目を見張るものがあります。内紛の続くイエメン（اليمن）を除けば、20世紀にこの地に居留していた者にとっては、信じられないほどの改革が進められてきました。 | Development in education, culture, and life improvement within GCC (مجلسالتعاونلدولالخليグالعربية) countries since beginning of 21st century is remarkable. Except for Yemen (اليمن) which suffers from internal conflict, incredible reforms have taken place for those who resided in this region during 20th century. |
| 特にサウジアラビア（المملكةالعربيةالسعودية）では、サルマーン（سلمان）国王陛下の治世のもと、ムハンマド・ビン・サルマーン（محمدبنسلمان）皇太子殿下が主導する改革により、まるで違う国になったのではないかと思われるほど劇的な変化と発展が軌道に乗っています。 | Particularly in Saudi Arabia (المملكةالعربيةالسعودية), under reign of His Majesty King Salman (سلمان), reforms led by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman (محمدبنسلمان) have put drastic changes and development on track, making region look like completely different country. |

| 各国政権は伝統保護を重要視してきましたが、国際連合教育科学文化機関（اليونسكو）の世界遺産への登録が相次いだことで、この動きに拍車がかかっています。それだけではなく、人類が誕生して世界へ広がった際の橋渡しとなったこの土地に、太古から残されてきた遺跡や伝統を観光資源として活かす試みが成功しつつあります。現在、この地を訪れる観光客数は、同じく観光振興を目指す日本を凌ぐ勢いを見せています。 | Each government has attached great importance to preserving tradition. Inscription on UNESCO (اليونسكو) world heritage list has accelerated this movement. Furthermore, attempts to utilize ancient ruins and traditions as tourism resources have been successful. This land once served as bridge for mankind spreading across world from its origin. Number of tourists visiting this region now exceeds that of Japan, which also aims to promote tourism. |
| 日常生活も大きく改善されました。人々の意識も自分の敷地内だけを美しく整備するという考え方から、環境全体を美化、保全する公徳心の向上へと大きく変化しています。 | Daily life has also improved significantly. Mindset of people has changed greatly from beautifying only their own properties to raising public awareness for beautifying and preserving environment as whole. |
| 教育面では、読み書きのできない人々の割合が高かった時代は遥か過去のものとなりました。義務教育の普及にとどまらず、キング・アブドゥラ科学技術大学（جامعةالملكعبداللهللعلوموالتقنية）やキング・ファハド石油鉱物大学（جامعةالملكفهدللبرولوالمعادن）に代表される国際的な大学が誕生し、世界大学ランキングでトップ100近くに位置する大学も現れています。さらに、海外留学の活発化だけでなく、世界の名門大学の域内分校の設立も少なくありません。このような動きが促進された背景には、20世紀から世界的な有力石油企業が進出し、英語が広く普及していたことも一因と考えられます。 | Regarding education, era of high illiteracy rate is far in past. Beyond generalization of compulsory education, international universities have emerged, represented by KAUST (جامعةالملكعبداللهللعلوموالتقنية) and KFUPM (جامعةالملكفهدللبرولوالمعادن). Some universities even rank near top 100 in world university rankings. In addition to studying abroad, establishment of regional branches of prestigious world universities is common. Widespread use of English since 20th century due to presence of major global oil companies contributed to this promotion. |

Opera, theater, and movie viewing became common daily scenes. Art exhibitions and music competitions are held, and orchestras like Saudi Orchestra (الأوركستراالسعودية) hold regular concerts, showing flourishing cultural activities. |
| 文学についても、従来は聖言が中心でしたが、当時から膨大なアラビア語の専門書や文学書が出版されていました。現代では、二言語使用者が国民に定着したことや、表現に対する制約が緩和されたこともあり、どの大都市でも書籍見本市が年中行事として活況を呈しています。 | Concerning literature, Quran was central traditionally, but huge numbers of Arabic technical books and literary works were published even then. As bilingual citizens became common and restrictions on expression relaxed, annual book fairs attract many people in every major city. |
| スポーツにおいては、従来のラクダ競走、鷹狩り、馬術、木造帆船競走に加え、現代スポーツとして蹴球が熱狂的な人気を誇るほか、籠球や庭球なども普及しました。特に近年では、最高峰自動車競走をはじめとするグランプリオートレースが大きな盛り上がりを見せています。 | In sports, traditional camel racing, falconry, equestrian sports, and dhow racing were central. Today, football enjoys enthusiastic popularity alongside basketball and tennis. Especially in recent years, Grand Prix auto racing including Formula One shows great excitement. |
